Primary Responsibilities:

The role of the Application Engineer requires direct interface with the customer’s engineering and technical staff to assist the sales team in securing design wins for embedded systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Establish rapport with the customer and become the go to expert for all the technical aspects of the sales process including pre-sales and post-sales design assistance.
  • Provide the customer with general product information and design tools such as data sheets, samples, demo boards, application notes, and product seminars.
  • Provide the customer with in depth design assistance and applications support.
  • Champion the customer needs and work with internal departments to develop competitive technical solutions
  • Be aware of the size and nature of the business at the assigned account and assist Sales in developing the account penetration strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years field experience required in computer hardware design related to Network Equipment / IPTV / WiFi or other networking hardware. Advance knowledge of WiFi, TCP/IP protocols, and network security preferred.
  • Ability to work with our sales reps, customers and corporate headquarters developing and implementing applications of Ruckus technology for customer specific applications.
  • Track record of personal involvement in understanding customer needs and utilizing technical resources to meet customer requirements.
  • A proven ability to recognize opportunities for business expansion within key-accounts and the ability to sell the opportunity throughout the key account organization and within your company.
  • You must have the ability to interface with multiple teams to customize solutions specific for the customer’s application.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Mobile Data Networks Sr Staff Software Engineer/Architect

Ruckus Wireless is actively seeking an experienced Mobile Data Networks Sr Staff Software Engineer/Architect to design and technically lead the development of next-generation wireless internetworking solutions. This position will be based in Sunnyvale, California and will report directly to the VP Engineering. Willingness to travel, within the US & internationally on an occasional basis is required.

Wireless systems domain expertise in the context of 3GPP/3GPP2-based carrier networks is required, preferably from the perspective of network equipment software architecture and internetworking protocol development. Additionally, familiarity or experience in the development of 802.11-based WLAN systems is preferred.

The candidate must have demonstrated experience in the specification and development of packet data solutions for 3G/4G networks, including strong understanding of LTE and EPC next generation packet data core network elements. This person will provide technical leadership, analyze requirements, and devise innovative solutions for WLAN/3GPP internetworking. We are a very hands-on organization, and therefore the right candidate should also be comfortable with programming, testing, and deploying software as well as leading direct discussions with key customers.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in CS/EE or equivalent; advanced degree a plus
  • 10+ years of experience developing commercial software applications; Experience in a technical leadership role is desired
  • Experience in architecting and designing embedded software solutions. Strong knowledge of tunneling protocols
  • Prior experience designing and implementing highly scalable and performance critical systems for carrier/SP applications

Ruckus is seeking an entrepreneurial individual who can help accelerate Ruckus’s Zoneflex enterprise business presence in all the relevant markets within their defined territory. Applicants should have experience in selling IT products to high-level level management and other decision makers. Knowledge and selling through VAR partners is important and a good knowledge of VARs/System Integrators in Region/Territory is essential. A good networking knowledge is mandatory and a reasonable understanding of Wi-Fi is advantageous. This person will preferably be able to demonstrate some technical “hands-on” capability in terms of demonstrating products to resellers. Solid understanding of large channel organizations and integrated solution selling and comfortable engaging with and be able to work with cross functional teams. Must have demonstrated experience in the creation of channel strategies and successful execution of Channel partner business plans including contract negotiations, sales, marketing and services go to market plans.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generate enterprise business opportunities and managing the sales process through to closure of the sale.
  • Create and implement strategic account plans focused on attaining enterprise-wide deployments of Ruckus products and services.
  • Develop executive relationships with key buyers and influencers and leverage these during the sales process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years selling enterprise network products and services, preferably with wireless experience.
  • Candidates will be highly motivated and have extensive experience in successfully selling large ticket solutions in their region.
  • Excellent knowledge of multiple platforms in correlation with wireless networking, competitors and market landscape is required.
