At Ruckus Wireless™, we’ve been designing, manufacturing, and marketing Smart Wi-Fi products and Smart Wireless LAN (WLAN) systems ever since we first opened our doors back in June of 2004. Our patented, universe-leading Wi-Fi technology was just one reason we were named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. Privately-owned, we’ve had some $51 million invested in our company from some of the world’s leading venture firms, including Sequoia Capital, Sutter Hill, T-Ventures, Investor AB, Focus Ventures, and Motorola Ventures.

Our claim to fame is on our patented Smart Wi-Fi technology and its unique ability to support streaming multicast IP video over the 802.11 standard protocol. This adaptive antenna technology leverages high-gain directional array technology and rocket-science best path selection algorithms to form and direct Wi-Fi signals over the best performing paths to each and every client. In the short time we’ve been around, we’ve been granted 28 patents surrounding this, and other, Wi-Fi technologies (with 30 more patents pending).

With this technology, we’re able to do something that other Wi-Fi companies can’t - deliver longer range and more reliable Wi-Fi connections to client devices. Wi-Fi that reaches farther and is inherently more stable due to the adaptive nature and control of our technology. Smart Wi-Fi constantly steers signals around obstructions and obstacles, mitigates interference, and focuses RF energy ONLY where it’s needed to ensure unprecedented coverage and consistent performance at longer ranges. While other "Wi-Fi" companies focus on what happens to wireless users AFTER they are connected to the network, we focus first on getting users connected to the network reliably. Our products are sold through both direct and indirect channels. To date, over 2.5 million Ruckus Wi-Fi systems have been shipped with our patented BeamFlex™ technology. Our flagship product line, ZoneFlex™ Smart WLAN systems gives enterprises and carriers a full-range of indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi solutions for every imaginable application from streaming IP-based video over Wi-Fi to 3G offloading, wireless broadband access to high-speed 802.11n wireless LANs. ZoneFlex is the only centralized Smart WLAN system that combines Smart Wi-Fi and Smart Mesh networking technology within a single, powerful, wallet-friendly solution.

As one of the fastest growing companies in the wireless LAN space according to Gartner, our enterprise customers span every vertical market including world-class hotel brands, hospitals, universities, school districts, retailers, warehouses, convention centers and many more.
