Privately-held, Ruckus Wireless™ is a venture-based Wi-Fi technology pioneer formed in June 2004 in Silicon Valley. The company designs, manufactures and markets unique “Smart Wi-Fi” products and Smart Wireless LAN (WLAN) systems based on patented Wi-Fi technology.

Named a "Technology Pioneer" by the World Economic Forum, Ruckus Wireless is widely recognized for developing the industry’s first Smart Wi-Fi technology. Smart Wi-Fi uses sophisticated smart antenna array and quality of service technologies to extend the range of Wi-Fi signals, automatically avoiding interference and dynamically adjusting Wi-Fi to cope with environmental changes. MediaFlex is the world’s first carrier-grade Smart Wi-Fi system that supports the reliable distribution of high-definition IP multicast services. ZoneFlex is the only centralized Smart WLAN system for enterprises that combines Smart Wi-Fi and Smart Mesh networking technology within a single, powerful and affordable solution.

Ruckus Wireless sells its products worldwide through both direct and indirect channels. To date, over 500,000 Ruckus Wi-Fi systems have been shipped and over one million access points equipped with Ruckus-patented BeamFlex™ technology have been sold around the world.
